The Opaline Conservancy
The Opaline Conservancy serves as the public outreach arm of The Doc’s ongoing research into the metaphysical and folkloric fabric of La Sombra. While The Doc’s personal work remains largely inaccessible to the general public, the Conservancy offers a window into the discoveries and curiosities emerging from the region.
Through curated exhibitions, immersive installations, and public seminars, the Opaline Conservancy brings forward the strange and wonderful realities of La Sombra. In close partnership with the Mendtide Main Research Library, the Conservancy highlights local lore, folk history, and metaphysical anomalies—bridging the gap between scholarly research and public imagination.

In 2024, the Conservancy launched its most ambitious project to date: a traveling showcase inspired directly by The Doc’s guidance. This exhibition departs from past displays by focusing on large-scale themes, lived experiences, and the metaphysical structures that define life in La Sombra. Designed specifically to appear in metaphysically thin areas across North America—and soon, the world—this showcase invites audiences to step into the layered reality of La Sombra, no matter where they are.
